Why can't I synchronize after I upgrade OfficeCalendar? All my OfficeCalendar Clients are recieving a "Cannot Connect to Server" message when attempting to synchronize.
Answer
Installing the OfficeCalendar update will entail first installing the upgrade to the server PC, which will install the OfficeCalendar Server component upgrade to your existing OfficeCalendar Server installation. Installing ocinstall.exe on the server will also update the contents of the c:\ocalclient folder located on the server PC. This folder contains the files needed to update the client installations of OfficeCalendar on other PCs. You will then need to go to each client PC, browse over the network to the c:\ocalclient folder on the server, open that folder and double-click the setupXXXX.exe file (whereby the "XXXX" represents the lastest version number). This will result in upgrading the client install of OfficeCalendar on the local PC. You will have to do this for each client PC. For additional details please download and refer to the OfficeCalendar User’s Guide (link above).

If you also synchronize Outlook data from the machine running the OfficeCalendar Server then there is an OfficeCalendar Client installed on that machine as well that will need to be upgraded. Upgrading the OfficeCalendar Server will not automatically upgrade the co-existing OfficeCalendar Client on that machine.

To perform this go on those OfficeCalendar Client machines to "Start", "Run", and type in "\\your server name\ocalclient" and click "OK". [Replace "your server name" with the actual name of the OfficeCalendar Server machine, if you need assistance acquiring this please review the knowledge based article How do I find the name of my OfficeCalendar Server PC?]

Then run the "setupXXXX" file to upgrade the OfficeCalendar Clients to match the OfficeCalendar Server version number and you should be able to synch properly again.
