| | Stopping the OfficeCalendar Service from running | | With the release of OfficeCalendar version 4.5.1.0. the OfficeCalendar Administration Console and the OfficeCalendar Service were divided into two (2) separate components. Therefore no longer does the active profile require to be running for the OfficeCalendar Clients to be able to connect and synchronize. Additionally, since the OfficeCalendar Service runs in the background, closing the Admin Console no longer stops the OfficeCalendar Service.
For instance, when performing windows updates the "OcalService" should manually be stopped. Follow the instructions below to stop the OfficeCalendar Service from running. Please note after manually stopping the OfficeCalendar Service it must be manually restarted to continue synching.
***Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Vista*** Go to "Start", "Control Panel", "Administrative Tools", and choose "Services". Highlight "OcalService" from the list and choose "Stop". To Restart the service highlight "OcalService" once again and click "Start".
