How do I retrieve my OfficeCalendar Administrator password?
Answer
User names and passwords are unique and are set locally in your environment. This information is never transmitted to OfficeCalendar. Whatever user name and password that was originally created will still be valid, keeping in mind that the user name and the password are both case sensitive.

If you are using the OfficeCalendar On Demand Server, you can click the "Forgot Password" option and the password will be emailed to you.

If you have a local OfficeCalendar Server installation and can not recall the user name and password to log in, there is no other way to reset your password other than to access the database and do it manually and there will be a ($50) charge for this. You will need to submit a trouble ticket with the OfficeCalendar Technical Support Staff and attach the OfficeCalendar database file so they can reset password.

For assistance in submitting an OfficeCalendar trouble ticket please review the knowledge based article Submitting a Trouble Ticket to OfficeCalendar Technical Support

For instructions on zipping up the OfficeCalendar database file to attach in your trouble ticket please follow the steps listed below:

1. On the OfficeCalendar Server machine, locate the OfficeCalendar Admin icon (small hand holding a calendar in the lower right hand corner - usually next to the clock), right-click on the icon, and choose "Open Database Folder". You should then see a "offcal.mdb" file within the folder.

2. Right click the "offcal.mdb" file and choose "Send To", then choose "Compressed Zipped File Folder". Save this file to the Desktop. When submitting the trouble ticket click the "Browse" option next to the "Attach:" area, locate this file and attach the zipped up file.

3. Stop the OfficeCalendar Service by going to "Start", right clicking "My Computer" and choosing "Manage". Then expand ("+") "Services and Applications" and highlight "Services". Locate "OcalService" and "Stop" the service.

4. Do not restart the OfficeCalendar Service until we have returned your new database to you. Your OfficeCalendar users will receive a message that the OfficeCalendar Server Could Not be Reached while the OfficeCalendar Service component is stopped. Users should be instructed to work in off-line mode until such time as we return your new database to you.

***NOTE***

Only passwords for people who are already designated as OfficeCalendar Server Administrators in the OfficeCalendar database will be reset. They are able to determine who was previously set as an admin from the database file you will be sending.
